Portable documents Since the revised coordination regulations for the EU states took effect (1 May 2010), so called „portable documents“ are in circulation enabling the insured to establish their claim. These are issued by the competent institutions. The portable documents are issued in the name of the holder and to enable the insured to present a document if necessary. They contain nearly the same information as the former E-forms (e.g. E 101, E 106, E 112). The European health insurance card is also considered to be a portable document. By presenting the portable document to the assisting institution, the data exchange between the institutions concerned begins. After the transitional period has expired on 30 April 2014 (please see under SED), these documents will continue to be issued. | |||||||||||||
